One of the primary goals of this site is to help other pet owners by sharing
information about adverse reactions to a drug named PROMERIS. The drug is made by Ft. Dodge Animal Health and is sold by veterinarians.
This drug is primarily used for flea and tick prevention for animals, but my veterinarian advised using PROMERIS for a skin
condition that my dog Lincoln had called demodectic mange.
Please be aware of the medications given to
your loved ones. Do not ever allow anyone to give your loved ones an injection or medications without thoroughly checking
written side effects even if they are recommended by a veterinarian as being safe. In the end, we are responsible for the
health and safety of our pets. As responsible pet owners we share a bond of love and trust with our animals that should never
be broken under any condition. I spent just over 10 years with Lincoln by my side, always watching over me to make sure I
was okay. About 5 years ago Lincoln came down with Lymphoma and was given a prognosis of 30 days to live without cancer treatment.
I looked at Lincoln and thought to myself, "would you let your best friend die?" No. I would do anything for him.
He was always happy; chasing tennis balls, swimming, following me everywhere, and he had no problems with cancer therapy.
A few months later, he was in remission. This success was brief, however, because the cancer returned. Throughout all of this,
he never acted sick. Lincoln was always happy to go to the vet's office and everyone there always fussed over him and
knew he was special. But one day on the way in I could tell he was not happy and I told the vet he did not want anymore chemotherapy.
We agreed to stop and I left with Lincoln. I was told he may only have a few months left. So we lived each and every day together
as if it was a gift, for he truly was a blessing! Over the years, people at the vet's office, people Lincoln knew or met
all over would be shocked and could not believe he was not paying any attention to his cancer and just enjoying every day,
and enjoying his homemade healthy foods and cookies. He really loved me and he really loved to eat. We were best friends and
constant companions. Lincoln could live with cancer, but could not survive the side effects of PROMERIS.

A huge problem lies in the fact that people
blindly put 100% of their trust and confidence in a professional doctor that we feel would never prescribe a drug that could
harm or kill our dogs or cats. Please be aware of any and all side effects from any veterinarian-prescribed medications. Never
let any veterinarian give your dog or cat an injection or medication without knowing all side effects. You need to make an
informed decision before you just let the vet shoot your dog up with who knows what. Put the control of your beloved animal's
life in your safe hands and you decide what is best AFTER knowing all of the necessary facts. Don't be afraid to ask your
veterinarian questions about the medications he or she is planning on giving to your pet. Read ALL of the possible side effects.
Never leave any vet's office with medications that do not have the Client Information Sheet. Some veterinarians are repackaging
medications in smaller containers with their own labels and NO information about the drug's side effects. PROMERIS is
sold in a box with three vials, but my veterinarian's office would sell them individually as well. The drug PROMERIS has
NO warning label on the individual vials and should never be sold out of the box.
